Andrea Deane Andrea Deane is a pastel landscape artist inspired by the exquisite beauty of the rolling green hills and mountains of Vermont. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 1978 where she majored in fine art. As part of her college studies she lived in Paris, France and attended The Cordon Bleu. After graduating, she moved to New York City and became a freelance, food stylist, preparing food for photography. In 1987 she moved to Haddam, Connecticut. She spent the next ten years as chef at the president’s house at Wesleyan University where she earned her Graduate degree in Art and raised her two children. She left Wesleyan to pursue a career in art education. Presently her artistic focus has expanded to include the peaceful landscape of the CT River Valley. It was for this inspiration that she was recognized in the CT section of the NY Times with her pastel painting of CT River in Spring. Although she has decorated many spaces with her murals and intricate glazing techniques in the last fifteen years, she just recently made the decision to put her energies into creating her own business, Ande’s Finishes. She Studied in Long Island, New York at the prestigious school for professionals, The Finishing School where she expanded her knowledge of the art. Currently she has been working in a number of spectacular, Connecticut homes where she may be asked to create anything from a whimsical children’s bedroom to an elegant dining room. One of her murals was featured in the May issue of Connecticut magazine. Recent Shows include Connolly Graham Fine Art, Norwalk, CT 2004; The Cooley Gallery, Old Lyme CT 2004; Renana Gallery, Middletown CT 2003; Riverside Press Gallery, Essex, CT 2002; Zihlka Gallery, Wesleyan University 1999.
